Serra Gaúcha

The Serra Gaúcha region offers countless leisure options for all tastes. The major attraction is certainly the Itaimbezinho Canyon, the only green canyon in the world, located at about 70 km from downtown Gramado. While most of the canyons around the globe are settled in desert regions, Itaimbezinho is involved in a luxuriously green vegetation, a bit of the Mata Atlântica, a typical vegetation from the Brazilian Coast that is now under extinction. Our front desk can arrange land rover excursions to the Itaimbezinho, or we can also manage to schedule a trekking group in the region. There are also several waterfalls in the region, the most famous being the Cascata do Caracol

.There are trekking excursions to some of the waterfalls that surround Gramado, but you can also simply go to have a beer and listen to its impressive sound in the Mirante Restaurant. If your interest is water, another option is the white water rafting at the Rio Paranhana. And since you're around, you may as well visit the neighbor Buddhist Temple, a 10 minutes drive from the river. There are several places where to jog, the closest one at mere 100 meters from the hotel. It's the Park Hotel Lake. Another good place to jog, walk, ride horses or go for a ride in small cycle-boats is the Lago Negro (Black Lake). The closest tennis court is less than 50 meters away, in the Gramado Tenis Clube.

Golf can be practiced at the Gramado Golf Club, 5 kms away from the hotel. For those interested in the culture, life-style and history of the region, our front desk will suggest a visit to a neighbor Fazenda, where one can appreciate the self-sufficient system where the properties make their own cheese, butter, sausages, marmalades and even, sometimes, wine. Speaking of wine: the Serra Gaúcha region is also known for it's Wineries, that can also be visited in a one-day excursion. Another choice to be more in touch with the history of the region is a visit to the Aldeia do Imigrante park, a recreation of a German immigrants village. No visit to Gramado is complete without a contact with its excellent gastronomy. Italian, German and Swiss immigrants brought their recipes and mixed them with the local cuisine to create Pantagruelic feasts like the Cafe Colonial - a meal that consists of everything you can eat from a table of 70 German varieties - or delicate experiences like the fondue.

Gramado offers options to dine such as Italian Canteens, Fondue Houses, Racleteries, Café Colonial, Brazilian Barbecue, German and Swiss cuisine restaurants, game dishes and more. The typical shopping experience in Gramado will include visits to leather and wool stores, house ware shops and the regional curiosity shops. If the guest chooses not to leave the hotel, he will also have a hard time becoming bored. Though its concept is closer to a relax place in contact with nature, the Varanda das Bromelias Boutique Hotel offers a huge heated in-door swimming pool, neighbor to a Sun Terrace where guests can work on their tan and stretch in warm water.

There is also a Swedish Sauna, a Table Card's room, a Lounge a Pool Table and a Gym Room. During the evenings, movies are exhibited in the rooms, through their internal DVD system. The hotel is also equipped with cable TV on the lounge and there is a Library coming soon. The front desk can also schedule a massage, reflexotherapy, personal trainer, baby sitter, water gym or manicure. But, as in any luxurious and comfortable surrounding, you may as well choose to do nothing at all...in style, of course!
