At noon time we lay out a tasty picnic. The guests relax on comfortable deck chairs under a parasol, the table is set with a towel and crystal goblets to savor a light countryside meal, with different types of cheeses and pâtés, and charcoal-grilled meat skewers, fruits of the season and homemade pie, all laced with good wine, naturally. There are three choices of tours:

HARMONY GREEN The destination is Linha Bonita, along alternative routes, on a dirt road winding through valleys and hills unveiling the most beautiful views in the outskirts of Gramado. A quick stop to pick some fresh, seasonal fruit from the orchard, a lovely swim in a waterfall, a stroll along the Santa Cruz river then the picnic in a private farm.

FLY FISHING For those who already enjoy the sports fishing as well as those who wish to learn this lovely sport.The Cherokee leaves the hotel towards São Jorge Farm in São Francisco de Paula, around 70 km from Gramado. The farm has 700 hectares, where the owner breeds cattle and has a lake for black bass fishing that is reserved for small groups. Alexandre, the guide, is a devoted, experienced sports fisherman, and is in charge of the well-being of the tour members. The tour includes a picnic that is served on the edge of the lake. This tour must be requested well in advance to ensure the exclusivity of the farm reservation.

PRAISE THE WINE! The destination is the town of Bento Gonçalves, cradle of the Italian immigration, where wines and sparkling wines are produced and known all over Brazil. A visit to D. Laurindo Winery, where the cellar is open for tasting its Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tannat, Candia Malmsey, Gamay and several sparkling wines. The second visit is to the Cave de Pedra Winery, whose specialty are sparkling wines. Then a typical Italian lunch, at the Canta Maria restaurant, where a lovely meal of chicken and polenta, pasta and salads is served. The return trip is along the Caminho das Pedras, or Rocky Way, revisiting the past through centenary rock houses, a colonial mill, blacksmiths and cantinas.
